IKKU SUMMER CAMP
2008
(International Karate Kobudo Union)
OXFORD COLLEGE, OXFORD, GEORGIA
Camp began on Wednesday, June 4th and
ended Sunday, June 8tth.
Unfortunately, I was only able to attend two days Thursday and Friday.
It was, again, unbelievable! Soke Ruiz, 10th Dan began by teaching the
VERY RARE Kata: Juro (Passage). He topped it off with
Omote (proper cadence) and Bunkai-Oyo (application)
with that the morning session was concluded.
The afternoon session began with
practice and questions, followed by
Nakazato No Sai. A very long intricate Sai Kata. Thursday evening was review
and practice for all of us to try to remember and digest the
immense amount of knowledge we had just been taught.

Kumote - Spider Hands

Kumote - Spider Hands
Friday morning was a RARE HONOR to those
who attended
IKKU Winter Camp as Soke allowed them to learn the EXTREMELY RARE KATA:
KUMOTE (Spider Hands).

Kaicho Adams was cross ranked into IKKU
and "Officially" Recognized as
Hachidan (8th Degree Black Belt) and his daughter, Mariah was recognized as
Sandan (3rd Degree Black Belt) and given the title RENSHI (trainer) by
Soke Ruiz, 10th Dan, founder of IKKU.
